I once showed up late at a camping event—pass was blocked by snow, took a while longer to get there. I had the bedding. Found my husband and his best friend, sleeping in separate tents, each wrapped in all the clothes they had, and slowly freezing to death. (Arizona desert, February, about two in the morning, it was COLD.)

The friend’s GF, who I’d been driving with, and I, dumped blankets on them and went to sleep.

In the morning I asked the obvious question—why weren’t you guys in bed TOGETHER, thereby pooling warmth and covers?

They looked at me as though I’d asked why they didn’t each just kill the other and crawl into his body cavity. Shook their heads sorrowfully at the weirdness of women.
