This whole thing is so freaking ridiculous.

As an immigrant, I’ve taken a keen interest in immigration issues, especially along the Southern Border. As such I’ve done extensive research into the challenges of policing and protecting such an area.

If the conspiracy nuts knew anything about the terrain out there they’d realize how virtually impossible their wacky scenario is.

Aside from the few (very well policed and monitored) crossings in places like Brownsville, El Paso, Nogales and San Diego/Tijuana, the vast majority of the U.S./Mexico border is virtually inhospitable mountains and deserts.

There are virtually no paved roads or highways, no water supplies, no settlements, no electricity, limited communications and so on and so forth.

Typically, the journey from Mexico to the U.S. on foot, even at the shortest distance, takes several DAYS of walking to complete. It’s virtually impossible for most migrants to carry enough water to sustain themselves, can you imagine a group actually attempting to lug a nuke through the desert?

It just wouldn’t happen.

It’s not like people can just waltz up to the border and walk on through with no effort. We aren’t talking about urban crossings here, we’re talking miles and miles of scorched badlands, which by the way, are also very easy to get LOST in. Crossing into the United States is a VERY dangerous journey even for young, fit individuals. A great many attempts end in death.

And I haven’t even started talking about the drug cartels yet. I really doubt they’d sit idly by while Islamic extremists set up a terror camp in their territory.

I wish more people would take the time to truly understand the situation out there.
