I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. 6 years ago she had an abnormal Pap result, and was told to get another one in 6 months. Her insurance wouldn’t pay for it, so she cancelled the appointment. I don’t know what her thought process was, but she didn’t get another Pap test done until after she knew she had breast cancer.

We don’t have a Planned Parenthood any where near here. I wonder whether it would have made a difference.

From what I recall about the Komen funding outrage is that they do provide assistance for cancer screening at facilities other than Planned Parenthood. In areas without a PP there are other places to go.
