What was this controlled substance he was allegedly in possession of? Because I’ve never heard that detail (not that it changes the fact that he was shot for simply telling an officer he had a gun in his possession)

He had some pot in the car.

But of course, if the NRA were truly concerned about guns and intoxicants being in the same place… why do they support letting people bring guns into bars?
