I only found out a few days ago that the big stadium about a kilometre from my front door is playing three nights in early June with some pop performer, I think her name is Taylor Swift or something? anyway, I’m thinking of booking it for the weekend and going elsewhere. Anywhere. I don’t care, just… not here.

Yeah, I think that might be a really good idea. I’m trying to imagine something like that here. While there’s a stadium within a mile of my house, it’s for the high school and it probably seats 3,000 people. It’s still noisy when they all turn out for a high school football game. I couldn’t imagine tens of thousands of people gathering for three days. Best to find a hotel room in some other part of the country.
