So, this photo is making the rounds today. It shows President-elect Obama looking into a mirror before coming out onto the Capitol steps to take the oath of office during his inauguration just over a year ago.

Just reading through the comments and how many are fawning over it and I just think to myself, it’s an interesting and poignant moment in history to capture, a moment of introspection, and again goes to his image control (an ongoing theme). It certainly provides plenty of fodder for lampooning too.

Also, I don’t think the photo is as nearly well done as it could have been - plenty of vignetting that I think is distracting.

It is interesting to figure out why the WH chooses to release these images and when they do so.
