Absolutely. It’s along the lines of the “DEMOCRATZ INVENTED THE KKK HERP DERP” that conservatives and their supporters spout, which conveniently ignores how abominable the GOP has treated minorities since the Dixiecrats went Republican.

The really only important factor for which party is less racist/more supportive of minorities is the views of minorities and the membership of minorities in those parties.

Say the Democrats had actually been a virulently racist party up until 1996. It doesn’t matter a bit, if they’re not that way now.

With the GOP, it goes beyond racism; they also combine it with a strong dose of culturalism. Do they really have to wonder why Asians dislike them so much when they babble about “Judeo-Christian” as though it’s the wellspring of all values in the world?
