(& Nimed)

Sorry for the late reply - just got here. Haven’t seen an answer, so here (sorry for being long-winded, but there’s a lot of story to this story):

1) Martha Roby - Two-term City Councilwoman* for city of Montgomery
2) Yes
3) She has a better chance of beating incumbent (and fmr. Montgomery mayor) Bobby Bright than Rick Barber does, IMHO. For example, Rick used to have a weekly poker game in his establishment/pub/whatever - he made no money directly from the games, but obviously there were indirect drink & food sales. Regardless of your views on gambling, it allows Bright to run against him as a conservative.

The Primary was June 1st, runoff is July 13th. Roby got 49.9% of the vote in the primary.

*Martha was deemed by some generally be a good candidate who needed more experience. However, the one with the experience and the reputation for having a spine of steel ran a lackuster race and got something like 13% of the vote. A disappointment in many ways.
