Taxes are lower is not the same thing as tax revenues are lower. Taxes could be higher and revenues lower.

If a store raises it’s prices and then has less revenue (because less people are willing to pay the higher price) you would not say that prices are lower.

How many people do you know who have left a state because the taxes have gone up?

How many states do you know that increased tax revenues by lowering tax rates?
