Precisely. Just look at the GOP platforms coming out of places like Iowa these days. It’s all about the nanny state, especially in terms of telling people who they can fall in love with and what they can and can’t do in their bedrooms.

It’s what happens in the modern political climate, words and phrases lose their original meaning through overuse in a manner that they were never meant to be used in. In this case, “Nanny State” is supposed to be something only “liberals” support, because “conservatives” are all about “personal responsibility” and “personal freedom.”
