I knew jack about this guy until I read a few links on Drudge this morning. I came away wondering once again just how deep the Saudis have their fingers into our government and educational system.

Very, very deep.

It’s a matter of ‘soft graft’. People who work in senior positions in the Government, particularly Presidential appointees, are angling for post-Government employment. Uncle Sam pays poorly, but the knowledge you take away from the job can make you quite valuable on the open market.

And everyone knows that the Saudis pay well. Support them, and you can land a job with an organization working for the Saudis - at a suitably high pay scale. Oppose them, and you might wind up eking out your retirement pay by teaching at a community college.
