As for Ted Williams, my Dad was able to meet him since there was a Senators reunion at the hotel he was working at the time. Obviously couldn’t get me his autograph but he did get Warren Spahn’s for me who was there for unrelated reasons. That was even more cooler to me than Williams. Not that Spahn was a better all time player than Teddy Ballgame but because I like Spahn was a lefty pitcher and Spahn is one of the best lefties ever. He’s another guy from that era who was a war hero and great ball player. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and got a Bronze Star I believe.
