I think the GOP needs to lose the rigid social conservatism. Lose the Jim Demints who insist you have to be a social conservative to be a fiscal conservative and you may get some new people in. Lose the hostile rhetoric to immigration and immigrants and you may get some inroads there. Problem is there are too many prominent voices saying that they lost because they weren’t conservative enough. They need to take some lessons from the Democrats in the 80’s and remake themselves.
