If anything, most Dems do the opposite and marginalize the moonbats and crazies on the left.

I distinctly remember Kos telling his readers to STFU about his support for Jim Webb over a more liberal Senate candidate. Kos pointed out that in Virginia, a far left candidate would lose the election, and he wanted to win. That tends to happen a lot on the Democratic side. Winning > ideological purity, so the far left moonbats are the first ones who are ignored in favor of more pragmatic candidates.
