I knew someone who had one in the late 80s. They do seem to be pretty dangerous to the user, but then so are butterfly knives and I knew several people who would screw around with those.

Makes me wonder how many self-inflicted nunchuk strikes to the gonads Bruce Lee is indirectly responsible for. (I don’t think Jackie Chan has caused that many self-inflicted kitchen appliance strikes.)
