I’m doing clean-up in the Harlem parks today. A lot of the volunteer opportunities (the Mayor’s office has a cool signup thingy and they email you opportunities) are not down in the Lower East Side and the other heavily hit areas. I think they’re letting the professionals deal with that, and use the amateur help like me to do the less-intense jobs around the city. Makes sense.

I’m going to be walking across Central Park to get to the smaller parks I’ll be working on. Be interesting to see what went down there.
