Back a few weeks I wrote that I noticed a pattern in the daily death totals, that there was a weekend effect, seen by a roughly 7 day interval in dips in daily reports.

But I see a lot of people, educated and not, state on say Sundays that it looks like deaths are going down.

Well, the past three days support my assertion:

This reporting-cycle is fooling a lot of people.

There has been a gradual global decline the past two and a half weeks or so, but that is because the two countries which had the highest deaths for several weeks, Italy and Spain, have seen daily deaths on a downward trajectory.

Globally though many countries are just ramping up their death reporting, such as Brazil and Russia. And I remain skeptical that we’re getting anywhere near reliable death data from India.
