Yes. He not only had the blessing from the MSM during that campaign but he also had the full backing of the Alaska police union. The link from the Alaska police union went further up the union food chain to include the heavy hitters such as the AFL-CIO, AFSCME, and SEIU.

I thought that would be from the Fraternal Order of Police, which was unambiguously in the McCain camp (might have something to do with his opponent palling around with a 60’s era terrorist)…
