Which is a part of what I’m laughing at. The same is true of the BONE. Reasonably capable (after much fixing of a bad initial idea) but it costs more to operate than the elderly BUFF. So we send BUFFs one way, they send BEARS the other way & anyone with a clue laughs their ass off at the various media freakouts.

Most reporters don’t really understand the military, and some just plain are terrified of the bomber’s nuclear capability. The press also likes big ‘scary’ photos of bombers in order to scare the public. The objective of scaring the public is to sell newspapers, magazines, subscriptions to same (both online and in print), and advertising.

BUFFs and Bears are good for business.
