I’ve had that a few times myself. It’s the worst feeling in the world, you can’t see to drive safely, but at the same time you can’t stop or get too slow for fear of what’s behind you. That’s where the nearest exit or pull-out area becomes my best friend.

I just about plowed into an old woman a couple of years ago because she suddenly slowed down when a semi drove by going the other way and kicked up a pile of snow. The road ahead of her was straight as an arrow, there were no vehicles behind the semi for a couple of hundred metres and the roads themselves were not overly slippery.

Her stupidity just about caused the accident she was afraid of.
