Canadians pronounce about as aboot. Americans pronounce it as abuht. Can you imagine either pronouncing any non-english word accurately?
Well, I once raised a topic about “non-phonetic” spelling here.
I mean, whenever a Latin script is used in another language, even if heavily modified, like Vietnamese, you guys just use the names as they are. Which leaves the question of how to pronounce each given name properly completely open.
