They are not taking care of a newborn, so they don’t need time off work

Well, they should get it, but I also wish we had some type of real maternity leave for mothers in the US.

After all, not everyone can fake a pregnancy like someone we know and show up for work 2 days later, keeping whoever’s baby with her.

When I had my first son, I had to quit my job when they found out I was pregnant, and then couldn’t have returned quickly anyway, since it took me 2 weeks to be able to sit up for any length of time. Let me just say: Horrible Navy medical personnel who didn’t like enlisted men’s wives having kids, and showed it.
