Virginia House of Delegates Majority Leader Todd Gilbert (R) complained of a vanity license plate supporting reducing gun violence. The bill passed the House of Delegates with only eight Republicans voting no (including Gilbert).

“We’re the snowflakes,” the plate’s sponsor, Del. Marcus Simon (D) of Fairfax, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch. “But these guys see ‘gun violence’ on anything and they go ballistic.”

House Majority Leader Todd Gilbert (R) accused Simon of “trying to build a narrative that gun violence is somehow different from regular violence.”

Rs have no problem singling out a particular type of medical care with their “choose life” license plates though, or a single type of government service with military and associated plates, &c.
