Proponents of both totally hypothetical scenarios (bloody riots on the one hand, new elections on the other) make convincing points.

One thing is certain: the very fact we can entertain two credible scenarios so much beyond the rule of law as credible is one mire indication that your country is really f*cked up.

Agreed. What really pisses me off about otherwise smart people even entertaining the idea that we should lay some level of blame for Trump on Obama is that it’s goddamned useless, lazy, and whether intentional or subconscious it ultimately seeks to absolve the majority of white Americans of being so fucking racist, sexist, ignorant and utterly mendacious that collectively we voted for an abject and overt monster. It shouldn’t have even been close, and yet it was, entirely because of us.
