I keep wondering if Trumps constant escalation of outrages is an attempt to save face, as he doesn’t really want to continue this show.

I think the best analogy here is LBJ in Vietnam. Trump has no real clue what to do now that he’s won NH. He’s a winner. He doesn’t know how to get out now.
