If people have counter experiences (especially first hand experience), if there’s word already out, if people know there are LOTS of people who think differently, propaganda doesn’t work.

Disagree. These techniques work, period. When there is competing claims the complexity that results may mean the results are mixed, but they are there. That is why our lives are dominated, in this culture, by advertisements.

And, I’ve personally had no interaction with PP during my life. I can’t think of anyone I know closely who has. PP is not ubiquitous in our society.
