I turned a corner at University of Illinois-Chicago in a hallway leading to my sister’s graduation for masters in social work and this big dude coming the other way almost ran me over. He smiled and apologized. Later, in the ceremony I turned around to see that he was just sitting behind me. My sister asked, “did you see Phil Jackson sitting behind you?” I didn’t know who that was. Anyway, Phil’s wife was my sister’s classmate and got her degree at the same time.

My late husband and I were dining at a small restaurant in a strip mall on Elm Place in Highland Park and Phil Jackson was seated at a nearby table. My sister saw Rodman in bathrobe and slippers at Bakers Square in Deerfield, near the Berto Center where the Bulls practiced.
