Not to get all maudlin on you guys, but I am in a dark place tonight emotionally. The page I posted about the gal who was pulled off a plane by a SWAT team and held in handcuffs for four hours (and strip/cavity searched and closely interrogated) all because she sat next to someone who used the bathroom too much has really screwed me up. I am somewhere between despair and rage, and I can’t even imagine how those three passengers feel right now.

I would actually want to do violent harm to somebody if that happened to me, and I really am having trouble recognizing the America I grew up in. Somebody on BoingBoing really summed this up for me: I don’t want any more 9/11 prayer services and retrospectives right now. I want my civil rights back.
