Man I still can’t support Carter, no matter what. His blind defence of William Calley will always be a thorn in my side. Whenever people accuse me of being a partisan hack, I bring this up as evidence that I don’t care about the partisan divide, but right and wrong.

It’s tough because Carter has done some very good things, but unless he renounced his support for a war criminal during his years as governor, I can’t support him.

Let me simply say this; Calley was a war criminal and should have rotted in prison. That said, he should have been the lowest ranking person in Levenworth making big rocks into little rocks for the rest of his life. Frankly, as an Army vet, I fully believe the entire chain of command up to at least the commander 23rd Infantry should have been imprisoned as well & possibly his commander as well.
