Is there a correlation between Obama’s rating as a senator and his behavior as president? I think Obama was such a liberal senator because he came from Chicago. Illinois. Pure politics in other words. In my opinion, Obama is a guy who isn’t a risk taker nor a revolutionary - he’s a methodical lawyer type, and fairly liberal.

Exactly, Flyers. He’s no kind of risktaker. His preferred strategy is to put the decision making elsewhere, really, and then wait to act. Compare and contrast the Clinton health plan vs what he’s doing— he’s putting it all on Congress to come up with one, rather than presenting them with one to eviscerate.

That is partly because he’s obviously learned from the Clinton debacle, but it also reflects his general style as well. (It’s also about deflecting blame, of course).
