We were having this discussion yesterday, and they indeed appear to have put fundraising and appearances above the goal of curing and preventing cancer.

So while they claim that they’re doing this because PP is under investigation, it’s a flimsy cover for the fact that some entities are always under investigation - politically motivated investigations at that. PP is targeted because of what PP does on an albeit small percentage of their overall services (providing abortion to those requesting it).

In my opinion, Komen stopped being a non-profit foundation dedicated to finding a cure for cancer when they launched their “BUY PINK STUFF” campaign, which is to SELL PRODUCTS and maybe donate some minuscule percent to cancer research just to keep their 501(c)(3) status.

Now they exist to help corporations SELL PINK STUFF.
