re: #262 The Pie Overlord!

Can someone clue me in what “Friendsgiving” is? Is it something that was inspired by the TV show “Friends”? Is it for people who can’t stand their relatives and would rather get together with people they like?

One of my best friends (an ex-, actually) had a big Thanksgiving dinner every year for a bunch of his friends and it was spectacular. He baked pies that had won ribbons at the MN State Fair. All of his food was made with TLC.

He was an incredibly special guy. A professor at the U of M who was on of the first people in the country to teach “Queer Theory”, and a legend with his students.

He passed away unexpectedly in his sleep last August at the age of 74. I’m still missing him horribly. We didn’t see each other enough, but he was (and still is) in my thoughts daily when he was alive.
