McConnell knows exactly what the vote means, but it’s not as though he ever cared about working with the other side and finding compromise solutions to solve our problems. He only cares that he lost the majority and he blames Trump for that. Most Republicans in the Senate are either cowards or Trump loyalists who were never going to convict Trump, regardless of the evidence. McConnell is a scheming Machiavellian who will do anything to retain power or gain power and that is what his vote represented.
