A backlash against one party tends to put the other party in power, regardless of the quality of the candidate.

If this is the case in the 2012 election, we could end up with a real humdinger in the POTUS.

But in light of this NYC trial giving American civil and constitutional rights to the foreign terrorist who murdered all those innocents, I find it hard to believe that even Micky Mouse would be a less damaging POTUS.

This trial fiasco and its appeals will drag on throughout the Obama Presidency, and the resulting backlash may come back and bite him hard.

Obama and Co. are making a big gamble that they and their sycophantic cheerleaders in the media are going to keep on side and make the trial 4 more years of slamming George Bush and the last 8 years.
