It’s the only realistic option Boehner has. If he keeps clinging to the Hastert rule we’re going to default because the teabagger idiots will just keep making all kinds of insane demands.

At some point he’s going to have to go to Pelosi and Hoyer and make a deal to get a clean, no strings CR and debt limit hike passed. This will cost him his Speakership and a primary from the right, but the alternative is destroying the global economy to appease a bunch of economic illiterates.
