Quite a few goals are from tipping or hitting a puck travelling at similar speeds and redirecting it into the net.

Hitting a baseball safely is more difficult than just hitting it because there are 9 men trying to keep that ball from hitting the ground, or failing that collecting the ball and getting it to first base before the batter.

Take two people, one a pitcher, the other a hitter. How many times will that hitter connect the ball? How many times will it stay fair?

You are absolutely right….. Tony Gwynn hit the ball 338 times out of 1000 and made it on base…… rarely was it a home run…… only 135 in his whole career.
