At 6:44pm here in vicinity of Richmond VA —two gunshots in the last 2 minutes. Merely marking the occasion, I would hope. Outdoors and aimed at the ground, I would hope. But more likely aimed at the sky. What goes up falls down, at only slightly lower velocity. Too many people are morons.

This kinda depends on the angle of up. If you shoot more or less straight up, it will use up all of that muzzle velocity and then come down under the force of gravity and pretty much top out at terminal velocity somewhere south of 200 miles per hour which is way lower than muzzle velocity. The lower the angle the more of the forward muzzle velocity it will retain
