Our 24/7 school’s nuns were quite cool about comic books, which circulated like prison cigarette currency. Guess they were glad to see us sit down and read anything.
Heh. I had a Cracked magazine in my desk, 5th grade. It was discovered by one of the girls in class at I was ratted out I tell ya’!
My parents were called and asked to meet with the head school nun/principal.
My father was pissed they called him over a stupid cartoon magazine. I was told don’t take those to school. Hell, it wasn’t mine. It was another kid’s, but I had just borrowed it to take it home.
It left a lifelong impression. I will never be the same. /
