Not to Godwin things too soon, but what’s scary is realizing that a lot of these people probably would have wanted the U.S. to support the “not really Christian, but we can pretend they are” Nazis against the atheist commies (And nasty Jews and homos and gypsies and…) in WWII.

We don’t hear much about it nowadays, but there were anti-war folks back before and during WWII. Most were riding the “isolationist” bandwagon, arguing that Europe/Asia’s affairs are none of our business, even if the rumors of millions of Jews being housed in concentration camps were true.
