Not entirely. For Catholic groups this bill really does run counter to church teachings, which have long held that personhood begins with movement (though some have argued first heartbeat). The Catholic Church has never held a fertilized egg to be a person.

They’ve always been anti-abortion even at that stage, though— an inconsistency on their part.
