pretty sure that those guys are in “difficult” districts and have voted with the R’s from time to time to give themselves cover and establish their “independent” credentials.

Matheson in UT is the chair of the Blue Dog Caucus, and, per Wikipedia, “currently holds the distinction of representing a more Republican-leaning district than any other Democratic member of Congress.”

McIntyre’s district in NC has not been held by a Republican since 1871. However, in 2012 his re-election was by a 50.1% to 49.9% margin.
