The Mother Jones article indicates a split opening up between the NRA and some of these open-carry activists.

Sounds like some of the more hardcore base may defect to a nuttier organization or perhaps strike out on their own. In any event, these open-carry activists come off looking like loons.

That’s because those groups don’t care about practicalities and Open Carry Texas doesn’t really care about anything outside of Texas. They’re liable to keep acting like assholes till the law smacks them down. Which might get ugly.
