Gee whiz, just as I left the (Architects) office where I work, my profession gets slammed by my fellow lizards! What timing my lurking mode has….

Anyway, I can certainly say that the biggest rip off in Architecture is the low salaries that us Architects make. Combine the liability and required schooling of a Doctor with the salary of a garbage man (without union benefits), and you have what honest Architects bring home.

Dishonest Architects use unpaid interns, HB-1 visa holders, and unqualified draftspeople to bring their costs down. If my profession has a bad reputation, it’s at least in part because society doesn’t properly value (and pay for) our contributions.
