Sucks that you had to go through that, but at least the bank limited your exposure going forward by issuing the new card.

I’ve made a habit of regularly checking my bank/credit accounts between billing statements to watch for erroneous charges or debits. Been lucky so far, but hackers aren’t going to ever give up trying to steal other people’s account information.

I got burned on iTunes once - for about 2,000 dollars. Took me six weeks to get the charges back. Should pay more attention to my account, actually. I go through a bit of money every month and have a number of ‘subscriptions’ I don’t use on that card…so there will be a bright side to this in the end. Probably save me 50-60 dollars a month.

As for the iTunes thing - someone hacked that account and bought gift cards for iTunes - $200 at a time - in Germany. Go figure.
