Go for the obvious engineering fix. Design a 30 degree slope and low friction coefficients in kitchen counters.

You will notice that I specified horizontal surfaces. Not just kitchen counters. Any horizontal surface will attract nearby unattached objects. The larger the surface, the more ability it has to attract an object. How else do you explain the coat you put on the coach ending up on the floor?
