Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. This morning the NYPD amped up their effort to clear City Hall Park of protests demanding police accountability - with predictable results.

More force, more arrests. Cops showing up in riot gear.

That comes after the PBA posted photos showing the latest class of NYPD cadets at the police academy in varying degrees of masking. Considering that the leading cause of death is covid19 among law enforcement this year, that there wasn’t 100% masking among those cadets is asinine. They aren’t following safety protocols designed to keep them safe, and they don’t appear to care how much force they use to clear peaceful protesters, so there’s something clearly wrong and dysfunctional about how cops organize/behave/and are policing themselves.
