It’s on the Honey-Do list, along with Yellowstone (again), Yosemite, Glacier, and Big Bend.

We always seem to do a ton of driving during our trips. The more driving - the better. Last trip was nearly 1,800 miles. I’ll have to post details and photos on the blog sometime. For a trip to Crater Lake, we’d probably fly into Eugene and loop around.

If you get up to Glacier a trip over the border to Banff is worth it as well. Though I hear the glaciers themselves are not what they used to be.

(My family did a month long trip in the early 70s. Starting in Indiana and went northwest and then came back from the far west. Saw Glacier, Banff, Yellowstone, Devil’s Tower, and a number of lesser attractions. Other vacations in the same time period included visiting grandparents who had retired to Tucson. So I got to see the Grand Canyon and the Sonora Desert that way. Didn’t get to see the joys that are Colorado and Oregon until the 90s when family were living there.

Touring California is probably the biggest gap left in seeing the Lower 48.
