There was a case recently of a young man, a high school senior, who was expelled from school for his work in adult films. He recently was allowed to return to school. He was doing this to help his Mom pay the bills (there might have been health issues for her too, I can’t remember at the moment).

Anyhow, I would think this is mostly purely an economic choice, though there may be some sex workers who like their job. I don’t know, I just have a hard time thinking that anyone would do that if they didn’t have to because of homelessness, addiction or economic circumstances. I don’t know. There’s a case to be made for legalization and destigmatizing of sex work, but it just makes me sad to think there aren’t other opportunities available for people to take care of themselves financially.

Well, it’s reality. A person with few marketable skills or temporarily in a bad situation can always sell what they have (if it is marketable). Really for a single mother of young children it would work well. Work-by-the-hour kinda thing.

I think we have to move away from the our fairy tale ideals about sex. It just doesn’t seem to be the reality -historically or currently. We have no idea how many women exchange sex for “favors” who may not be technically “sex workers”.

Men, women and children are being exploited and sidelined because of a law we have regarding sex.

It’s killing all of us.
