Julie Smith sued on behalf of her husband, Jeffrey, 51, who has been in the intensive care unit at West Chester Hospital since July 15. He was intubated and put on a ventilator on August 1. Julie Smith is acting as Jeffrey Smith’s guardian.

According to the lawsuit, Julie Smith investigated alternative treatments for COVID-19 and asked the hospital to give her husband Ivermectin. It refused.

Jeffrey Smith is on “death’s doorstep”, according to the lawsuit. Julie Smith asked Dr. Fred Wagshul about Ivermectin and he prescribed 30 mg of Ivermectin a day for 21 days for Jeffrey. Julie also offered to sign a release relieving the hospital of all liability.

The hospital refused and that’s when Julie sued.

Dr. Wagshul is a member of the Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance has been advocating the use of Ivermectin as a COVID treatment.
