I left the church long before the pedophile scandal, because of the overwhelming hypocrisy and the astounding ego of a new priest. The pedophile scandal locked it down for me. I believe in God, and still pray to St. Anthony every time I lose my car keys. (It still works). I don’t need the Vatican to tell me what is right and what is wrong.
